Summary

Mokko City – Rift Valley is a pioneering creative smart city in Kenya that integrates climate-conscious urban design with a thriving cultural and film ecosystem. This session explores how creative narratives can drive climate awareness, community resilience, and sustainable action across African cities. Through an annual slate of films, digital media, and community-led storytelling initiatives, Mokko City commits to producing content that addresses environmental stewardship, conservation, and climate adaptation. Participants will learn how embedding storytelling into urban development can amplify climate messages, foster public engagement, and inspire collective action. This session highlights Mokko City’s innovative approach to combining cultural production, climate consciousness, and youth-led creative economies—demonstrating how cities can leverage creativity as a tool for sustainability while fostering local and global impact.
